Default registax

I had a club member scan some (film) negatives of Jupiter for me. Now
that I have these (both jpeg and tiff) files I wanted to play with stacking
just to see how this process works. I downloaded Registax but I see it's
mostly for stacking avi frames. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to
computer graphics and even worse with this "stacking" idea, So am I right
that Registax wont stack my images? I seen a tutorial on someone's web site
on stacking Avi files but I haven't seen one for jpg and/or tiff's. Is there
a tutorial somewhere for stacking jpg and/or tiff's?
