Four years ago I build myself a CCD camera. My eyepieces have been
collecting dust ever since. One recurring problem though, is frost buidling up on the CCD chip, requiring partial dismantling of the camerahead for drying. My guess is that air is leaking in around the electrical connections. Because I cannot seem to get the camera head completely sealed, I am considering other options. Placing silica gel inside the head would risk breaking wires and would still require regular dismantling of the camera. Another option is boring a hole (or two) for blowing out the moist by means of dry gas of some sort, and then plugging the holes. I wonder if canned air would work? Any suggestions? pej -- Per Erik Jorde |
