Ok, let's see who we are dealing with in MERgate. Steve Squyres (Principal Investigator and asshole), Cornell University http://astro.cornell.edu/people/facs...hp?pers_id=112 Ray Arvidson (Deputy Principal Investigator and asshole), Washington University, St. Louis http://epsc.wustl.edu/admin/people/arvidson.html Jim Bell (Pancam Payload Element Lead and nice guy), Cornell University Johannes Brückner (APXS Principle Investigator and asshole), Max-Planck-Institut für Chemie, Germany http://www.mpch-mainz.mpg.de/spacepage Phil Christensen (Mini-TES Payload Element Lead and asshole), Arizona State University Ken Herkenhoff (Microscopic Imager Payload Element Lead and nice guy), USGS, Flagstaff Göstar Klingelhöfer (Mössbauer Payload Element Lead and asshole), Johannes Gutenberg-University, Germany Rudi Rieder (APXS Payload Element Lead and asshole), Max Planck Inst. für Chemie, Germany Lest I forget : Sean O'Keefe (NASA Administrator and asshole, and what about those seven astronauts?) George W. Bush (US President and asshole, and what about all these wars?) This, we can do something about. It's called and election. I say, fire their asses. Look, here's an image of some of the spectroscopy assholes and some nice guys in their native habitat : http://athena.cornell.edu/the_mission/scientists.html Show US some spectroscopy assholes. You've got way too much time and way too little grey matter.

Actually, I specifically took some time off from my usual work just to spend some time looking at the results from this Mars mission. I'll have a lot more time on my hands now that I presumably won't be examining any Mars spectroscopy data any time in the next six months. As for grey matter, I have enough to allow me to determine that Mars has a great deal of subsurface ice and surface mud from the orbital imagery, without the benefit of spectroscopy. That the orbital spectroscopic analyses have confirmed that conclusion is just icing on the cake. Now it certainly appears that the rovers have confirmed it too. Got any other good crackpot Mars geology theories that need refuting? Thomas Lee Elifritz http://elifritz.members.atlantic.net |
