Arizona system testing for Ares I

It makes you wonder just how many systems on, and related to, the SRB's will
have to change for Ares I.

It will be much more than a 5th segment addition, for sure. The Ares I
first stage will be a real bugger to stear. It will be interesting to
follow the evolution of the aft skirt. The chute test seem to be going
well from what I have research. The SRB's for the Ares V will be a
simple upgrade from the shuttle stack. Take a look at the link to my
new gallery of pictures for the latest Ares I, Ares V, and CEV, Card
Model config's. I am waiting for the new LEM config to be hammered some
more, (Before modeling it). We are still at the birth stage here. The
testing could bring many changes to flight hardware config's. on all of
the prop. for Orion & Ares. It is hard to keep up. Who knows with the
new Lockheed & Mr. Big Hotel deal, (and poss. Congressional turn over),
NASA may have to go with that stripped down system. Lets just pray that
we don't return to the Clinton Days, (i.e., X-33, CRV,
Faster-Better-Cheaper......). Those dark days when Al Gore was busy
building the net, doing CPR on the Russian Space
Program........,(Please don't let us go back to that)!
