Default Weird walkng machines

You know, if we could get something along these lines up on Mars:
http://www.strandbeest.com/movies.html
What makes these widgets so odd is that they move not like they're
machinery, but rather alive- particularly that Rhinoceros transport-
which looks like it should have one of Wells' Martians riding in it.
They are apparently powered by the wind.

If they could program the machines to do John Cleese's silly walks, you
would have a robot doing comedy.

We already have one in the Oval Office

For silly walks and pratfalls in the Oval Office, the award would have
to go to Gerald Ford.

Well, yeah. He had a great physical act going. I think Dubya's is more
cerebral. We may well not understand and appreciate it fully for another
millenium. I wish I could live to experience that day

How is Ford doing recently, anyway? Last I heard he was hospitalized
again. He must be getting close to being the oldest ex-President we've
ever had. Are there any recordings of him talking to the ASTP guys
available online? (late grasp at getting on-topic

The yellow tube ones reminded me of microorganisms moving around on
their cilia.
The whole concept of the yellow tube ones somewhat resembles the Pedrail
propulsion systems that were the predecessors of true tracked vehicles,
and figured prominently in H.G. Wells' story "The Land Ironclads".
You can download your own Land Ironclad model for free he

There was a nice article about bipedal walking robots at
http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20050806/bob8.asp
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/307/5712/1082/DC1
has links to three movies.
