![]() "I refuse to quit but I surrender!" -- Ed Conrad "Type A" posted to talk.origins, alerting us that Ed Conrad has just put his "coal-age petrified bones, teeth and soft organs -- some human" -- up for sale on eBay. "Type A" thinks he has finally thrown in the towel (Thank God!). ========================================== A list of Conrad's rocks and how he described them... DISCOVERY OF PETRIFIED BONES, TEETH AND SOFT ORGANS BETWEEN ANTHRACITE VEINS CONFIRMS THEORY OF MAN'S EVOLUTION UNMITIGATED CRAP (Here's the Proof -- All in a Nutshell) http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/FOSSILS/FirstDiscovery.jpg http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/ManasOl...iscoveries.jpg http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/Evidence/MoreFossils.jpg http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/FOSSILS/ManasOldasCoal.jpg http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/FOSSILS/TestResults.jpg http://www.edconrad.com/ebay/FOSSILS/OldestTool.jpg ==============================================. "Type A" wrote: Ed Conrad has struck again. Either this guy is a hapless victim of his own mega-discovery or a master scamster. What kid hasn't dreamed of stumbling across a fossil bone in his own backyard? Conrad claims to have found dem bones by the bucketful. Now Mr. Ed has listed yhem on eBay ("antiques"?!?) which he hopes to sell for an outlandish price. This fang certainly resembles a giant meat-eater's tooth to my amateur eye. Razorbacks are an area buzz kill for campers, and I can only magine what this honking big tooth whittled up for lunch. So what is it? Is this the grand-daddy of Hogzilla? Is man and barbecue "as old as coal" as Conrad's website claims? Is this guy a savant or just an idiot? I've watched the Conrad bouts with the fascination I usually reserve for rollerball, and can only presume he got das boot as there has been a decided lull in the action. His website is still the same mix of coal miner mysticism and Intelligent Design science, and his eBay listing looks like he cut and pasted the weirdest specimens to up the ante for his "giant tooth" as well as all of his other "rocks." I'd like to have any educated input about the "giant tooth" allegedly found scientifically out-of-place in Carboniferous strata, or any other educated observations about the "antiques" Conrad has posted as support for his current offering on eBay. The operative word here is "educated." And what the hell are those fingers from? Thanks for any observations. Ed Conrad's eBay listings: http://cgi.ebay.com/-Science-Antique...1QcmdZViewItem |
