I think parts of the rock may have jumped into the water on Enceladus and
evolved into microbes. And surely the geysers aerate the water enough to give them a tropical fish aquarium effect. Just hate to be that alien fish that got caught in the geyser and sprayed into outer space! |

Such an interesting thought, Mark! Some people believe that life came to our Solar System from outside -- from parts unknown. Others think that life in this system originated in this system. Perhaps in the early system, things were too hectic for life to gain a foothold in the inner, rocky area. So life may have developed on moons like Saturn's Enceladus, and then later, life may have migrated inward to a habitat where liquid water was plentiful. And the geyser spraying life into space may have been just the ticket! Escaping the moon's gravitational field might have been a li'l bit tricky, though. Perhaps it took more of a blast? Maybe your fish got caught in a volcanic eruption party? -- SMILE! goose.tickle.tickle.goose Indelibly yours, Paine http://www.savethechildren.org/ http://www.painellsworth.net |
