Anyone have an opinion on those magazine cover bags
they use? Do you think they increase sales (recent Astronomy) or decrease them? I don't buy every astro mag like I once religiously did and there is more chance I'll buy it if I can skim the thing and see if there is anything in it I'm likely to read. -Rich |

Especially when it takes a cutting torch to get those stinking plastic cover off! Why not just use an exacto knife to cut open the "stinking plastic cover"? I do want the same "stinking plastic cover" so that it will protect my copy through the potential mishandling from one continent to the other by both machine and man. Anthony. |

I think they are talking about the trend towards packaging magazines this way on the newsstand. Of course, it is a good thing for magazines sent in the mail, but I wouldn't buy a magazine off a rack if there wasn't a copy that I could browse first. _________________________________________________ Chris L Peterson Cloudbait Observatory http://www.cloudbait.com |

They don't do any good for home delivery - the dog eats the magazine anyway, plastic bag and all, unless someone is home to intercept him. I think they should deliver the magazine in a locked cast iron crate to assure undamaged delivery. The rising price of the magazine surely implies the appropriateness of delivery in iron. |
