I've just been outside at 22:30 UT and comet Machholz is visible
in 8 x 42 binos. It is faint but findable even with the Moon at the closest separation it can get this month. Not much evidence of a tail under such bright skies but, as they say, watch this space! It is two FOVs to the right of Rigel. Festive Felicitations to one and all. -- Graham W http://www.gcw.org.uk/ PGM-FI page updated, Graphics Tutorial WIMBORNE http://www.wessex-astro-society.freeserve.co.uk/ Wessex Dorset UK Astro Society's Web pages, Info, Meeting Dates, Sites & Maps Change 'news' to 'sewn' in my Reply address to avoid my spam filter. |
