Default Upgrade mount on Bushnell refractor?

I received a new scope as a reward for my 35 years with the company.
Beats a watch!

But has a rather poor alt-azmuth mount that is very difficult to adjust
and control. I'd like to upgrade it to either a better alt-azmuth or an
equitorial. The scope is a Model 78-9440 and it sems to be fine for me
except for the lousy mount. But perhaps that's just an overall indication
of the quality?

As an alternative I suppose that it's quite possible I'm not using the
mount that I have correctly. Advice in that area would be welcome also.

Would it be reasonable to try to upgrade the mount? How much might I
expect to pay and where would I find such a thing?

TIA,

Bill W.
