Default SETI@home Error

I just completed a SEIT@home work unit, the smudged green icon turned red,
and I attempted to send in my results and get some new numbers from our
friends in Berkeley. However, SETI@home delivers to me the error
message, "Can't write to file - disk full?". The answer is, "No," I have
many gigabytes of free disk space, so the error message is a lie.
Anybody have an idea of how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

You probably already did this, but I'd try a "restart" ... often times
strange illogical behavior by the OS is fixed by a restart ... if that
doesn't work, then, well, I'm not exactly sure ... :-(

Yes, I tried that -- no luck. I might add that I've processed over 1,200
work units uneventfully thus far with this system, so I suspect some
esoteric event triggered by SETI@home itself -- perhaps interacting with
some esoteric aspect of the operating system (Windows ME).

Another clue -- but I have no idea what it may mean. In the SETI@home
window in the "Data Analysis" section in the upper left hand rectangle
it says: "Found data file: no. Found result header: no. 0%"
All I want is that SETI@home should work!

Delete all the .SAH files except user_info.sah. Then download a new WU.
Occassionally, S@H will corrupt one of the .SAH files and report this error
instead of "corrupted file".

I just followed your suggestion but the problem remains. My SEIT@home
apparently connects to Berkeley but it refuses to download a new work
unit giving me instead the error message, "Can't write to file - Disk full?"
