That bright star on the lower right... Alnitak (Zeta Orionis)... is a nice double star, which is wiped-out in this long exposure. The little cluster which was born from this large molecular cloud is also pretty easy to see in a telescope, and in a lesser photo, like this one... http://www.astrobrallo.com/gallery/i...ntrast?sb=none .... you might see why it is also called the Tank Track Nebula... |
