Default Winter on Heartbreak Ridge!

Where I am staying is on the ridge of the Tualatin Mountains running just west of downtown Portland. The locals just call them the West Hills. The old money lives in the hills. Where I am is at the summit of a pass, and on the slopes of Mt. Sylvania, near the top of which sits Portland Community College. The climate is markedly colder up there than in Portland itself. The cold east wind out of the Columbia River Gorge hits with full force. The ice we got a couple weeks ago lasted on the ground up there almost a week! But there is a beautiful view of Mt. Hood.

Now the weather is turning colder again and talk of snow is back in the forecasts. Only 44F here in Tigard today, and expected low tonight of 29F! Tigard is down in the valley just to the west. I hear the sound of ice pellets coming down now!

Don't forget, No. 2 Ducks vs. Beavers tonight at 5:00 PST on ABC!

la is cold at night, very cold in the valleys ( always -10 or + 10 deg depending on conditions) and during the day it is warm. So climate cold/warm is very bad, call in the gorebots!

The cold perhaps affected UCLA that played StAnfurd ( disrespected spelling used) who has its stadium up by Silicon Valley, and cold there most of the time, well they got hammered. Looked like too much turkey.

Now we await the cold + rain + cold front from Alaska.

Well the Oregon Ducks polished off the Beavers last night to maintain their No. 2 standing! But now they have to face Arizona, the only team to have already beaten them this season, in the league playoff.

The cold east wind has returned here, blowing harder than ever! Was 29F this morning, now 36F at 12:45 PM. Otherwise sunny. Could see snow on the distant hills. Another ice storm is predicted for Portland tomorrow morning!

AA It rained here WOW. Must of had 1/3 inch. Still in the mid 70s Its perfect weather for sleeping. You must have my email so write to me. I'm not telling anything here any more about M&M. The hate mongers are very jealous and would like to see bad things happening to me. I might get so busy after Christmas I won't have time to post. Its was fun. Time I moved on. TreBert

Rain in California???

Here the weathermen were wrong as usual. No ice storm appeared today, only sunshine through scattered clouds and calm with a nip in the air. Last night it was 27F. Now it is 37F.

Today downtown Portland they are preparing for an Ale Festival later this week in Pioneer Square. Saw lots of port-o-potties being set out!

Jesse Jackson came by Portland yesterday to stir up the local demonstrators! There were many arrests. I'll bet the cops like getting all that overtime pay!

Bert, you can email me at doublea333.gmail.com. Google doesn't show much of anything anymore, usually not email addresses.

so they buffed that muff? '[[polished-off?]]'? those beavers.

Beavers put the Cal hopes of number #1 when a 4 th quarter coach mistake, let a rookie QB try to finesse one more play before regulation ran out and he ran in circles and did not have time to kick a field goal ( Cal was 8-0 at that time, had laid waste to Oregon, Tennessee, and UCLA prior but faltered and never regained, and fired the coach who made that mistake tedford years later.

But if Lynch ( Currently Seattle) did not go to the NFL, early, he had one more season, we would have given the ball to him, each down, and he would have taken Cal to its first national championship since the 1950s.

We got 1. inch in 24/h in Agora Hills, the Valley (( Girls 1980s) got hit hard and we are temporarily flooded and Hollywood parade was washed out.

Stevie Wonder was the Christmas Parade VIP grand honoree and since he is blind and no one told him of the surprise downpour he kept thinking people were throwing their drinks into his face, all parade long!

So 'Oregon Ducks polished off the Beavers' even when the beaver in its fourth period of that same day? That's gross and disgusting.

Portland is the western Northern Hem. slave port and opium den location. Thanks to FDR's Ariel business of opium trade.

first day the rain slowed and we got so much rain , we are now out of a drought and over our mean records with this latest storm.

Go figure. last week they said no water ur lawns, or anything else, and now they say we got too much rain and over the season's average.

at time, we are forced to concede the Media plays all of us like a fiddle -- and play these gub people like an accordion.

Well you asked for rain, and I guess you sure as hell got it! Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor!

Here we have lots of rain yesterday. Not so bad today, but rain stays in the forecast for the next week. But then this is Oregon.

At the Cedar Mill Library today. 46F here now as of 2:30 in the afternoon.

Hard to get passed that Ale Festival downtown, but I need to pay my storage rent. Need to give them my email address so I can make online payments and don't have to worry about always getting over there in person as the weather further deteriorates. Last winter the street was completely blocked with snow, and it cost me a $35 late penalty fee!
