oc Would like to have two different smooth metal plates in the hope
their cohesion force will not be as great. Light metals might be tried as well. What metal did Casimir use? How close is very close? Was it performed in a good vacuum? Was it performed close to absolute zero? Do bigger and smoother plates make a difference? If the plates were made of silver and had lots of free electrons on its surface that could make the plates push away from each other. I would have loved to looked over Casimir back as he put this experiment together. go figure TreBert Ps have more thoughts on this |
