I know it's going to be subjective to describe it but... Is the contrast good? Can you get a picture? Martin, You lucky, lucky b*******! I was fortunate enough to have a quick squint through one of these some time ago and remember how clear the view was. I managed to point my digital camera into the eyepiece and (surprisingly) got a couple of pics (http://www.nuney.com/wansfell2002/dscf0217-cropped.jpg and http://www.nuney.com/wansfell2002/dscf0218-cropped.jpg) - these are rather washed out but you can still see prominences and spots. Happy observing - but I hate to think what the we*ther gods will make of this latest acquisition.... Chris www.nuney.com |

Really GREAT view, much better than what I hoped...... You really see the flares very good and when you tune diferently.... they vanish and then you can see the surface and around the spots... I've been threatened with the public revelation of my despicable past if I dare take a telescope outside - as this is said to cause immediate typhoons. So I'll probably go for the 24hr/day kip (at least until I get the negatives.) -- Martin Frey http://www.hadastro.org.uk N 51 02 E 0 47 |

Unfortunately it could be reasoned that as he now has both day and night scopes we are in for 24 hour cloud cover. So what else is new. -- Roger 52:54:41N 01:30:05W Orion 127mm Maksutov. |
