I think the other wing is behind the first one, but turned 180 degrees
in relation to it.

Default KSC Apollo Question

The command module that sits in the Saturn V center, is a real space craft but was never used, just like the ones in Houston and Huntsville, Alabama. They were scheduled for future flights, but the program was cancelled before they could be used.

I visited Kennedy earlier this year as a guest of NASA. While there I
visited the Saturn V centre. The NASA people escorting us showed us the
Apollo Command Module bur could not say which mission it came from. Can
anyone identify which Apollo it is. Or is like the STS on view at the
visitors Center, a clever reproduction?

There are a couple of CMs in the Saturn V Center at KSC. One, sitting by
itself, was most definitely "used". It was the ASTP CM
(http://www.balettie.com/gallery/view...KSC&id=ASTP_ca
psule). The other, to which I think you're referring, is a boilerplate CM
that's displayed connected to a SM underneath the entire Saturn V stack
display.

The JSC visitor's center has the Apollo 17 CM "America", but again... I
think you're probably referring to the CM out on the Saturn V sitting on the
grass. That one is another mockup. Huntsville has the Apollo 16 CM
"Casper".
