Otherwise physical impossibilities become not only possible but almost inevitable. We become a realm of magic! I know that theists believe in nothing BUT magic. And that therefore reason and logic, even the most obvious and self-evident proofs & facts are of no use to counter their mental illness (for it is not unlike a madness, this unreasonable conviction that deists have that existence is everywhere awash in evidence of magic all around us). This sickness even permeates into science and retards/thwarts it. It's a crying shame! Think of all the fabulously advanced weapon systems we coulda had by now if it weren't for them damn Godists bunging up the works. We do have amazingly advanced weapons, and the Godists are employing them enthusiastically against other Godists. You apparrently don't know as much as you think that you do. True Christians believe in Jesus words, Ah, but which sort of True Christians? Jesus is reported as saying lots of things, some of which seem to conflict. Each group of True Christians considers some subset of the sayings to be the foundation, and any contrary sayings to be secondary or even something to be explained away. In this case, I am sure there are True Christians who consider these passages foundational: [Mt 10] Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. [Lk 22] He said to them, "But now ... if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one." To paraphrase an apt saying: there are two sorts of Christians, the True Christians and the False Christians; the sorting is done by the True Christians. No, God does the sorting out, but Jesus did say that people would be known by their fruit, that is their deeds and their character. The short period of time when Jesus was taken away from them was likely the reason for this apparent pragmatitism. But I'm not convinced that Jesus was even telling them to go and get weapons, else why did He say, "It is enough!" at the presentation of only two swords for at least 11 apostles, plus all the other disciples. The sword that He came to bring in the scripture that you quoted is quite obviously metaphorically the sword of division, as it is mentioned as dividing even a parent from their child; dividing those who would love and follow Jesus, from those who would not. It is still not uncommon in Jewish families to go as far as considering a Jewish convert to Christianity as "dead" to them. Jesus brought a sword that divides even families. There is in fact very little that Jesus said that even seems to be self contradictory,. The statement to the contrary is a well repeated, little researched, catch phrase. In my experience, most of those who insist on the ' bible is full of contradictions' argument are athiests. It's like trying to be physicist with out even knowing math, it won't really make that much sense. As Jesus said, those who are willing to God's will, will know of His doctrine, whether it is truly from God. Most people who cling to atheism have more of a problem of what God's existence means to them personally, rather than truly not believing that He does not exist by itself. Feeling lied to about God, seeing the charlatans, having been abused by a minister or christian, feeling betrayed or cheated in some way, or misunderstood, by God or those who represent Him, or say that they do. These are more often the reasons for being an adamant atheist. That is, besides wanting to be like all the others, as so many espouse atheism. Many things are matters of the heart much more than we would like to admit. Huxely admitted that evolution is only a hypothesis, and said that at that, it is not a very good one, but said that the only reason that He believed evolution was that the alternative was to believe in God. Not very logical, not very "scientific", not based very much on data, or the scientific methodology that is so venerated. More a matter of the heart. Jesus spoke straight to our hearts. That is why so many people love Him, and why so many who disbelieve Him, or reject Him, do so more from personal reasons. As Jesus said, those who don't want to come into the light, don't want to because their deeds are evil, and they don't want to change, they don't want to have their deeds publicly shown as "wrought in God". Confused, misquoted, and taken out of context "facts', about the bible, and about the Lord Jesus, are so common that the pure, unadulderated truth is often rejected, and replaced by mixed up heresay. Historical scholars say that the minor difference in the Gospels that amount to a difference of such as whether their was one blind man or two in a particular spot, actually point more to showing that the gospel records are NOT manufactured, because people who deliberatly manufacture false tales usualy make sure that their stories agree to the last detail. If you really care to know if Jesus of Nazareth is our God, and the Savior of mankind, seek God for this with all your Heart, and read the history of Him in the bible with an open heart, and mind. In Jesus Name, Bill. as when He said to Peter, " Put up the sword Peter, those who live by the sword will die by the sword." And, "My kingdom is not of this world, therefore my servants do not fight", and " Love your enemies", telling them to do good to them and pray for them, even those who despitefully use them. The trouble is that there are many who say they are Christians, but don't do what their Lord and Savior tells them do. Jesus spoke of these as those who build their houses on sand, proclaiming to be Christian but not acting as Jesus Christ would have them to, and not really taking His words seriously. I am saying to to clarify, and to point out the mistake of generalizing. Sticking a telescope in the corner of your room does not make you an astronomer, and neither does saying that you are a Christian, but conveniently finding your way around following Jesus, and actually believeing what He said, As one of His apostles said, " The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds". And he also said that if our enemy is hungry, to feed him, and if he is thirsty to give him something to drink, that in so doing we will be putting burning coals upon his head, as in the conviction they will feel. I won't go to a an astronomer or a physicist, and tell him how wrong he is about something, if I don't understand what he is really saying in the first place. Neither will you understand what Christians really believe, until you have first believed on Him, and want to follow Him and recieve from Him all that you need. My point is made. I am not trying to stir up debate, I only want to help you to see this. I don't condider this any more off topic than the comments made that provoked me to make my point. God bless you all with the wisdom and sincerity, and love of the One who created the Heavens and the Earth, and Man, and saw that it was good. They introduce a mechanism and most die, a few survive. The survivors reproduce giving off their traits. Unfortunately for the evolutionist it's still the same kind and can never produce other than the original. As was intended by God. The reason they can adapt to live in different regions is a mercy from the Creator, such as the animals thick fur in winter, and shedding in summer. Such is programmed into the animal DNA and can never change. Bones grow only with muscle development, that is why today for example people have problems with molar teeth. In the west the babies eat slop until they are 6 or 7 where they might get steak, they don't eat hard carrots, or hard potatoes, or tough steak, and everything is boiled to the point of being water. They years later when their jaws are underdeveloped they say its evolution changing the human race. They thought 150 years ago they'd find proof for changing of animals and they never have, never in history I do dare say. Ex, In Newfoundland Canada they introduced 2, yes 2 moose in the mid 1870s. These 2 moose reproduced until about a dozen more different ones were added some years later. They have no natural predators on the island. Now the moose population is at least 100 000, and maybe at one new generation per year, 100 generations, they haven't changed a bit. To quote a website "That a healthy population of animals has arisen from such a small original population raises some interesting questions about the concept of genetic bottlenecking."(http:// www.coastalsafari.com/MOOSE.htm). What you need 150 000 generations to see change? How about no number of generations can change the genetic code, and at less than a 1% variation in the code all animals die, or are so malformed they cannot live to sexual maturity. 1. Animals don't evolve enough to change the genetic structure of their genes, *except in the cause of those genetic diseases arising due to genetic similarity. 2. A change in less than 1% tends to kill the animal as is can not form. 3. The design of the Creator is shown in that, even though humans, cats, monkeys, and bats all have sliding joints (wrist) it is found in various locations on the genome, and is not the same code. 4. If you think of a computer programmer randomly typing keys in, you will never get anything out of a program with 10 million lines typed completely randomly, no matter how many times they type it. Needed 99% of the program to function is an impossibility the first time around. Even with a functioning program and then trying to rearrange by taking out chunks and changing. By changing 2 commands in one like with 3 commands anyone using C basic/C++ will know you'll get a error and the program wont compile. ( I haven't used it since second year university) 5. No one ever sees "link" animals; you know the dinosaur to bird link, the monkey to human link. The fish to frog link. All evolutionary biologists do is draw pictures of supposed animals, or find bones of different creatures and add them together, putting them in a list that goes with what they say, despite ages or species type. Ex the pelt down man hoax, the dinosaur with bird on top calling it a link, the display of 10 horses showing evolution when they weren't arranged according to bones or age, only artist rendering. 6. I believe in the big bang, gas clouds, millions of years of earth age. I take the view that animals were added in some form or another in some way, because of the impossibility of bacteria "evolving" into more complex forms as this is impossible. The DNA no matter how it is is impossible of adding things to itself. This is magnified in that it acts as a machine and could never "think" or "want" to change its genetic structure as it would result in immediate death of an organism. Ex. Wonder why plants didn't genetically modify themselves to be stronger, or more resistant to bugs and such? Because its an impossibility. Here are some creationist proofs against evolution, http://www.harunyahya.com/html/m_video_index.htm It is made by a Muslim, but Christians and Jewish and any believer in a Designed world will benefit very well from this knowledge. It is real science, researched, documented, and seen in a question/ answer with tests, not a "maybe this is why" answer or "well millions of years explains this oddity" or "god told us so its right". Now onto the religious arguments. 1. Anyone who calls any man/women a "god", the "son of god", the "mother of god" is making the highest level of blaspheme possible against the Creator of the universe. 2. Anyone who thinks Christianity is about the man named Jesus should really read the new testament and notice that all doctrines and most of the testament is made by Paul, the Jewish outcast who had roman ideas about gods. Idol worshipping, multiple gods, mother of god, sacrificing ones son for god. All of these things have no place in Mosesaic laws. Example, consider the sacrifice of Abrahams first born son Ishmael, at the last moment God stopped him and he sacrificed a lamb instead. I think the same thing happened to Jesus, because as it says in the New Testament, Jesus is Alive, do not think of him dead, for he is Alive. He did not go to hell, he did not suffer death, he is alive, though every soul must taste death, but that will be when he comes back. Major points, one cannot call a "man" god, anyone following mainstream Christianity is following the teachings of Paul who gained power in the church and fought the original decipals. He took the religion over and told everyone else "this is the only way". Jews could never accept a man as god, for they know God is above anything we can imagine, let alone some simple human, weak, and forgetful. Anyway may the evolutionists be guided in that they can see things are way to designed, they cannot happen by chance in such as a DNA change to form a new organism. Just watch the video on the development and stages in the fetus, and how a sperm and egg cell, who have never met each other, somehow are perfectly designed to join. There are several fail safes involved that cannot happen by chance, such as the sperm knowing where to swim, how it loses its tail, and its mantle to enter the egg. Then how the egg seals. There are no cells in the human body with ½ chromosomes except these 2, the sperm and the egg. Such cannot happen by chance. That's quite a rant, Im really bored at work today, didnt proof read it much for content, just spelling in MS WORD. Im not an english student thats why Im all over the place. May God guide all of us and grant us peace in this life and the hereafter amen, Al We are created in the image of God, and Jesus being God has been put in terms of "great is the mystery of Godliness", but yes, Jesus of Nazareth is God in human form. This is not blasphemy. As far the Christian Church being taken over by Paul, that is simply not true. Actually Peter outlived Paul having been crucufied in Italy after Paul was beheaded, and himself had a very profound role in establishing the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. As did James, John, Andrew, Thomas, and all the other Apostles and prophets of the Lord Jesus. Paul was very much used by God to reach the Gentiles, but so were many others, and more to the point, there is no disagreement in their doctrine. At one point Peter was rebuked by Paul for his cowtowing a little to some of the more legalistic Jewish Christians, but Peter recieved the rebuke, as is recorded. As the Church grew in the early years there was some disagreement, which was for the most part worked out. Until the great falling away that Jesus prophesied of. The church is now being restored, especially since the second great outpouring of the Holy Spirit, as even the old testament prophets saw in their prophetic vision. Isaiah said that God would cause His people to grow individually and corporately, " line upon line, and precept upon precept". Trying to find fault in any one Christian or group of Christians is not hard, but we are growing, and Jesus will come for a bride that has made herself ready, and we are New creatures in Christ Jesus, washed in His Blood, and born of His Spirit, baptized in Jesus Name for the remission of our sins, as both Paul and Peter commanded in the history of the church recorded in the book of Acts. Yours in Christ Jesus, Bill. |
