place all old posts on a cd instead of on a hard drive which is used
today. you could have the cd read on a computer and feed to the internet for future readings. it would look like a old juke box machine. how much space is used for old posts here???? jon riley toronto |

Where is "here" ? You - as in YOU, could archive any posts you wish to on CD. However - the newsgroup postings themselves are scattered and distributed throughout cyberspace and reside on various news servers for different amounts of time depending on that particular server's retention......some are archived, some aren't....who knows..... My ISP took away newsgroup access. I think mainly because the space
needed to store old posts. WHy not just put it on a CD ROM? Or on these scattered computers you refer to, on CD ROM too. |
