Yeah, he's forgetting Gemini, with the ejection seats which threatened that really
bad, albiet brief, headache...

Not to mention Vostok, also with ejection seats, and Voshkod, presumably
equipped with prayer books for the crew

Voshkod was what I had in mind, since it had no escape system at all.
Probably not even a prayer book, given the ideology of it's operators.
Maybe a bottle of vodka ?

On the subject of Vostok, anyone know if the ejection seat even
intended to be usable as a launch escape system, or was it purely for
landing ?
