But the real issue here is whether a company, car or telescope, considers

worth their while to engineer a product with the restrictions and

limitations
necessary to keep it backward compatible/upgradeable. Personally I don't

think
so.


It's just proof that Ford, GM, Toyota and the rest are in the same
conspiracy as the scope manufacturers.

Actually, cars can be upgraded to a great degree, compared to
telescopes. Except the auto companies call the upgrades,
options. You can take a $23,000 car and push the cost to $40,000 with
the right upgrades. Then there is the aftermarket, which is another
avenue. It is possible to replace nearly every part in a car.
