Default Colorado Daylight Fireball 05 Oct 2004

On October 05, around 13:30 MDT (19:30 UT), a daytime fireball
occurred over Colorado. Does anyone have visual or video observations
of this event?

I once observed a fireball just after sunset. It was pure dumb luck.

Errrmmm... It's not like you can accurately plan these sitings in advance...

No, but with looking up at the stars at night and watching the weather
during the day (I fly too, so I'm fairly weather obsessed) I figure I up
my odds.

Yes, this is what I had in mind. After thousands of hours of observing the
sky at night and watching sunrises and sunsets, I see a great fireball while
driving and was lucky to do so. I would have been home and parked
in my garage if I had left work two minutes earlier. Even as I watched it,
I remember thinking about how thankful I was for my good fortune.

What a sight it would have been at night. Probably would have jumped
out of my shoes.

I'm still seeking witnesses for this event. However, details of the resulting
meteorite are at http://www.cloudbait.com/science/bermet.html . The meteorite
landed within 100 feet of three people!
