The Andromeda Strain (1971)
A U.S. Army satellite (Scoop VII) falls to earth near Piedmont, New Mexico. The recovery team experiences difficulties as it becomes clear that the satellite has performed its intended function all too well, and has brought back something from space. A team of scientists is assembled in a high-tech, underground facility to identify and defeat the "enemy" before it is too late. "rk" wrote in message ... OK, need a bit of help here. Old movie, a spacecraft lands, all the people in the city are killed, except for two people, the craft is brought into a place in the desert, buried deep, multiple levels, way down, and they try to isolate what the bug is and then neutralize it. I thin two people survive the bug in the city, a baby who is crying and an old geezer (drunk?) and that provides the key to the solution. They have a contamination of the facility, really a germ warfare place, and the hero with the key had to get it into a station and then disarm the bomb that will destroy the joint, attacked with lasers and all, makes it with seconds to spare. Thanks in advance - I did try searching on the www but couldn't find it. -- rk, Just an OldEngineer "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for nature cannot be fooled." -- R.
