Default space tectonics

One idea I had a while ago is that by analogy with
plate tectonics on the 2-D surface of a 3-D sphere
there could be space tectonics on the 3-D surface
of a 4-D hypersphere. And while plate tectonics
is powered by convection in the 3-D sphere the
space tectonics would be powered by convection in
the 4-D hypersphere. And I guess with time there
would be five dimensions.

What would be the material to push away the “space plates”?
What would be the “space plates”?
What would be the energy source to cause the material to convect,
and from where?

AFAIK, the universe is _not_ a 4-D hypersphere.

This is basically the mechanism they use to analyse the CMBR. They use
the anisotropies in the CMBR to determine where cosmic voids and cosmic
superclusters will exist.

The patterns on the surface of the CMBR can be thought of as sound waves
emanating from the center of the Big Bang out to the surface, i.e. the
CMBR.
