Out of curiosity, if some american company got rights to build Soyuz
rocket and capsule and just translated the buttons and software to
english language, could such a russian design but built in USA ship be
cost competitive against Dragon ?

I thought, at one point, one of the proposals was something along those
lines, but a quick search doesn't turn up anything.

My guess is that a US built Soyuz, even if the Russians allowed it,
would not be cost competitive. Soyuz really isn't designed for reuse.
Dragon is. If SpaceX can really reuse each Dragon many times, that
would be huge.

Would the Boeing CST-100 be cost competitive against Dragon ? Or is it
impossible for a large company the size of Boeing to be competitive
against a lean and mean competitive company like SpaceX ?

With Boeing, it's hard to say. They're certainly the more
"established" player. That comes with advantages and disadvantages.
