Default whats inside a meade APM?

whats inside a meade accessory port module?
is it just like a break out box for a couple of sockets?
or is there some electronics? as you can probably guess
im thinking of the possibilty of making one?.
I know they are not that expensive but with
a couple of young kids every pound counts

thanks in advance for any advice or experiences.

Hi

There is a circuit inside. The APM is not a simple breakout box. The
information taken from the AUX port is serial data in a Meade developed
format. There is a processor in the APM that communicates with the scope.
This communication provides all the information and feedback. It also uses
this information to drive the various sockets on the APM. You'd be far
better off buying one as building one will end up alot more expensive.
