ASTRO: Eagle's Head NGC 2177
Seeing Danilo's wide field post including the Eagle Nebula reminded me I
never posted this one. I had done it in LRGB some time back and wanted to add H-alpha. I framed it so differently I gave up using the old RGB frames and took new ones but didn't get any red ones. Nor did I blend the H-alpha into the blue as Richard Crisp suggests to give it a more natural pink color. So it is pretty red! With no red channel the stars look way too blue. I'd swear I took the red frames but can't find them on the hard drive. Wouldn't be the first time I forgot to check the "autosave" box. 14" LX200R@F/10, L=2x30' H-alpha R=L frames GB=3x5' all binned 2x2, STL-11000XM, Paramount ME I received my new power supply for the observatory computer today. I'm back in action. Of course that just cued the clouds to move in. Three days of clear skies and no computer now clouds with snow forecast for this evening and continuing for 24 hours. Rick -- Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct. Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh". |

Observatory Computer is back in action but the sky isn't
For once the power supply died just before the warranty ran out. Usually it is the day after that that happens! Rick D van den H wrote: Rick, glad to see your back in action.. Nice shot.
