Hi,

I've been toying with the idea of getting a reticle eyepiece to assist
me in doing drift alignment and for use with my flip mirror/camera
setup. I found this ad on Astro Buy/Sell from a company called
Astronomica.

http://www.astrobuysell.com/uk/propview.php?view=10365

It seems to have everything I could need for about half the price of
the equivilant eyepiece from Meade.

Has anyone bought stuff from these people? Are they any good??

cheers

Jezzer

Haven't actually bought stuff but they did a presentation at my astro
club and it all looked quite impressive (although I am fairly new to the
equipment side). A couple of people bought bits and I certainly haven't
heard any complaints.

What was great was that the two blokes that run it are really, really
into astronomical observing and taking pictures. They don't just sell
the stuff. They are very friendly and if you contact them they might
even let you return the reticle eyepiece if you are not satisfied (they
kind of hinted they would do this but I live in Hull near where one of
them lives). Also they visit lots of shows and local astronomy groups
so you might be able to catch up with them.

They appear to be good as sourcing stuff from places in the far east
that make stuff for the big boys. Often its identical just with the
Astronomica branding on.

Now I have actually got a scope I am sure I will be buying some stuff
from them soon.

HTH.

Cheers,
Mark

I ordered a 2" ED Barlow from them around 9pm last Sunday night.
An hour later they sent me an e-mail obviously written by a human, not
an automatic one, saying that the item would be dispatched the
following day.
The postie arrived with a package which needed signing for at 10am on
the Tuesday. Can't get better than that!
