No one is sure what it is, but it sure looks like it's supposed to
straddle something like a seagoing Sikorsky Skycrane and winch it up
under it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/acoe/se...7594329953686/
Some sort of recovery vessel for a spacecraft that lands at sea?

Hey, I already started on OT thread about this and even went out of my
way to call it to your attention. I guess weird minds DO think alike.

I read the messages each day from the oldest to the newest, so was
looking at the photos of it on Defense Tech around the same time you
were posting your message to the newsgroup, then posted the article
before I read your message.
That at least, is how I recall it, and if anything else happened I do
not recall it, as it was several minutes ago.
Certainly, looking around the web for nude pictures of Mariette Hartley
before I went to Defense Tech had nothing to do with this event...to the
best of my recollection.
I'm having a ball watching you expound on Constitutional Law regarding
Mars settlements, and hope you are filming this event, unlike the time
Mary expounded on you, which has been lost to history. :-)

Never film anything, never write anything down, deny, deny, deny . . .

unlike the time Mary
expounded on you, which has been lost to history. :-)

Google may have a copy, my best efforts to the contrary
notwithstanding.

COLANI - THIS MAN IS A GEN-IUS!

(I thought the thing to the right of the picture with "NASA" on it was
part of the launch structure; now I'm pretty sure that's a combination
rotating vertical fin/crew access system...the man has imagination, I'll
give him that...most madmen do.)

WHO ARE _YOU_ TO SAY COLANI MAD?!
COLANI SHOULD RUN OVER YOUR UNIMAGINATIVE LITTLE HEAD WITH HIS VERY
GEN-IUS TRUCK!:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...lani_Truck.jpg
COLANI'S SPINNING WINDSHIELD WIPER WILL CLEAN YOUR UNIMAGINATIVE LITTLE
BRAIN RIGHT OFF COLANI'S CIRCULAR WINDSHIELD LIKE THE LITTLE
UNIMAGINATIVE BUG-BRAIN YOUR ARE!

Wait till you see his Corvette:
http://www.automorrow.com/articles/colanivette.html
You try to go 230 mph in this thing and the air pressure under the
duckbill is going to flip it right on its back:

The page claims the record and doesn't report any injuries.
