Get a load of the inlays on this guitar:

tarkus/Martin%20Guitars/?action=view&current=IMG_2206_79_1.jpg

A lunar EVA suit on the headstock, a Gemini/Titan II stack up through
the first 9 frets or so, and then a shuttle/B747 carrier from the 12th
- 18th or so.

Any guesses which astronaut this might be for?

John Young flew on Gemini 3 & 10 and Apollo 10 and 16. Young also flew
STS-1 and STS-9, but not the Enterprise ALT missions, however. Fred
Haise was flew in Apollo 13 and the Enterprise ALT flights, but I don't
know of his connection to Gemini.

I would have to guess John Young.

Text wrap problem with that; here's a shorter link to it:

It's got me baffled- if it weren't the Shuttle on the back of the 747,
I'd say John Young.
But only Haise, Fullerton, Engle, and Truly flew the approach and
landing tests.

That was my initial thought too aside from the ALT/SCA business. On
the other hand, perhaps it's not for an astronaut at all, but for
someone who was somehow involved in all three of those programs, an
engineer or program manager of some kind.

That occurred to me also; but there is another possibility- it is indeed
John Young's, but dates from before the Columbia's first flight, so has
the Shuttle on the back of the 747.

I don't think that's it. This guitar was seen under construction on
factory tour just a week or so ago. So it's being made now for a
particular reason, whatever that reason might be.

Well, there goes that one- this really has me stumped- I made a search
for John Young's email address so I could send him the link and see if
he knew anything about it, but couldn't find a address for him.

Could be still be for John. The shuttle on the back of the 747 could
be, being transported to cape for launch.
