![]() New hi-res Google-Earth images of Baykonur city The old 5-m res images of the residential areas of Baykonur have recently been replaced with 0.5 m res imagery to match the resolution of the coverage of the main cosmodrome. Go wander through the former 'Leninsk' to see the sights. The SE corner of Lenin Square is 45.617 N, 63.322 E. |

I was watching that Nova proram "The Dark Side Of The Moon" recently that had the interviews with you in it; it must have been downright infuriating to know all that old L-3 hardware was in the vicinty and you weren't going to be able to see it. I would loved to have seen the look in your eyes the first time you saw a LK lander. It must have been like seeing the Holy Grail. :-) I didn't realize they had made a full-scale L-3M lander mock-up also. I wonder what happened to it? Pat |
