Default OT- the upside of nuclear war

So would you like to have only four toes on your feet, like is the case
of my left one?
Well, don't worry...with a nuclear war we can evolve humanity at a rate
you wouldn't believe!
From Mechanix Illustrated, December 1955, O. O. Binder (Otto Binder, as
in the sci-fi author?)
Shows us the possible upside of nuclear fallout:
http://blog.modernmechanix.com/2006/...ace/#more-1140
And how we can create a _real_ race of eggheads:

These must be the guys that build all those cool buildings you see in
Star Trek TOS matte paintings, judging by the background.
But looking at those insignia on their chests, what Binder isn't telling
us is that these guys are gay! And they certainly dress the part, don't
they? :-)

Yepper, the 'O' in Eando Binder.

First nuclear blast over New Mexico in 1943? I must've misfiled the memo.

Do you think it was a mere coincidence that the U.S. Army's wargame
Opposition Force was the dread Circle Trigon?

They a;so had really cool Ming the Merciless helmets, and rattled off
Esperanto like Milla Jovovitch Leeloo Dallas Multipass.

....Ah, and that wonderful Kurt Schaffenberger art, too. Otto and Kurt
also worked together on a lot of the Captain Marvel books before
Fawcett got chased out of the super-hero biz by DC. Kurt was also one
of the main artists for Supergirl, although unlike Jim Mooney, who's
associated more with the SA Superbim than Kurt, Kurt admittedly didn't
draw the Girl of Steel first and *then* her clothes.
