Default Summer Issue of Skywatch Ready for Download!

Hi Gang:

The last couple of issues have been late, so this one is early. I also
had more time to work on this issue than I've had in a while. I'm
pretty proud of it, frankly.

This time:

"The Night Everything Changed" (Uncle Rod). A WO UWAN review.

"Uncle Rod's Cracker Barrel" A new editorial-type feature.

"Midwifery" Birthing a new amateur with Martin Howell.

"Whatever Happened to S.A.A." (Uncle Rod).

"The Lego Observatory" Scott Smith.

"An Open Letter to E-mailers." Lee Paul. Good sense tips.

"Don't Buy Trouble" (Uncle Rod) Observing sites and security.

"Not a Moment Wasted" Nasa's Space Place column.

"My Back Pages" Plenty of cool Rumours for this hot summer issue! TAKE
A LOOK HERE FOR HOT-OFF-THE-PRESSES INFORMATION ON THE NEW CELESTRON SE
SERIES ORANGE TUBES (CHINESE MADE)...

The first of Scott Smith's Astro-cartoons!

How do you get it (it's free)? Just go he

http://members.aol.com/RMOLLISE/index8.html

Please note that back-issue downloading is not currently working. I
expect to have this working again over the next week or two as I
migrate this page OFF AO-Hell. ;-)

Peace,

Hi Rod---
You are a class act. Your newsletter is better than the "Reflector" that
League puts out.
with your permission, I'd like to place a copy on our club's site with a
link to download from there---I think our little would like it. Full credit
given of course.

So Rod...
...how do you guys from the colonies say Nagler?

Is that Nagler (Nag ~ Nag) or Nagler (Nag ~ Ney)?

And does that go for the Yankees as well as the Rebels?

:-))

The last time I talked to The Man, Uncle Al, it was nage-ler, as in
"nay".

Yanks? Who knows 'bout those critters? ;-)

Hi:

I say "nage," you say "ney," we're both talking about the same sound,
"nay," not "nag" as in what one of Uncle Rod's ex-wives, aka "The
Wicked Witch of the West," used to do. ;-)

Excellent ish, Uncle Rod. Especialy the soapbox on sci.astro.amateur.

Note that I am one of the ones that uses my real name and does not hide
behind a pseudonym or "handle".

I will be on sci.astro.amateur unitl it comes time to turn out the
lights.

As it predates online forums, it has more tradition.

I just filter out the nonsense that shows up once in awhile.

Note the small number of RTMC participants that posed for the
sci.astro.amateur group shot. It is a sign of the decline.

If you can, post the new link here as well as on your old website. Your
newsletter is interesting, with or without the Dixie Beer (or Shiner
Bock, which is my fave).
