Default Scientists have "another theory" of mass extinction

So, not its not asteroid or other impacts, its outgassing from the
Earth polluting the atmosphere and making it poisonious for the
dinosaurs, whatever. Whatever happened to the so-called,
iridium layer in the ground that supposedly proved the theory of
massive impact of some object like an asteroid?
