Texy,

Don't know if you have bought a scope yet but there's a Dutch review of the
Bresser scope N203 here - must put it through Balefish though!

Thanks Jon - I think you forgot the link!
Anyway, I purchased a used 8inch F4 scope on an EQ4 mount this weekend for a
good price.
Came with single axis motor drive that is faulty (I knew that at the time of
purchase). I was hoping
to fix that, but the problem appears to be in the control box. Its got a PIC
microcontroller, which
appears to be duff. Unless I can get a replacement control box only, I,ll
have to buy a complete
motor kit, around £50 or so.
Cheers,
Texy

Texy,

So it's you to blame for the weather! Hope you have fun with the new scope -
what make/model is it?. It might be worth having a chat to the fellows at
Telescope House - they have a repair dept and I was in there yesterday and
they were incredibly helpful.

Sorry - review is he http://www.2astro.dk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=817

I had another look at the LXD75 range yesterday (which I was very attracted
to buying but couldn't justify £1000 on a first scope and I'm convinced the
mount is identical on those to the Bresser. I have no idea if the LXD range
are actually made in China or not but it wouldn't surprise me if they both
came from the same factory.

Anyway, I hope you have a heap of fun with you new baby.

Clear skies to you!

Jonathan
