Default Great lunar halo

I've just been outside observing a beautiful halo round the moon. I've never
seen one so big or such a perfect circle - you could almost convince
yourself there were colours visible in it - maybe there were? Is this
possible? Not having a good enough camera to do it justice, I just had to
content myself with trying to memorize it. Maybe somebody else better
equipped has managed to capture it? (I'm in NW Cumbria, by the way.)

It wasn't that bright from Selsey. It just about shows up here...

Oh I wish you'd been up here with your cameras and expertise, Pete! I've
marvelled at some of your superb photos in the past - I can imagine what
you'd have made of the Cumbrian view of that halo.

Yes.

Gosh. I wasn't imagining it, then.

I saw it too from my back garden (near Alnwick, Northumberland) and stood
looking for ages. Not very defined, though it looked nice through the fine
clouds/misty stuff. Couldn't see any colours though. My third moon halo so
far!
