January's turning out to be a bit of an experimental month for me.
As Maurice has been prodding me for not posting much on the PST and the Sun was out yesterday in Selsey, I had an extended session with the little scope, playing with a number of different imaging options. About 4 hours in total and despite the beautiful sunshine, I was frozen to the core when I finished. Some interesting results using a StarLight Xpress SXV-M8C but this will take a bit of processing before I'm going to release the pics. Yesterday's Sun had some small prominences as well as a couple of monster filaments (one can be seen looking like a snake at the bottom of the linked image). The PST is certainly an interesting scope. http://www.digitalsky.org.uk/Jan-200...-01-29-ha.html -- Pete http://www.digitalsky.org.uk |
