![]() Oh...this is the best. This scandal will involve more Congressmen than the Keating Five, more money than Abscam, and reach higher into the halls of Congress and the White House then Iran/contra. It doesn't get any better, a timeless spectacle of greed and abuse of power. Even better than sex, ah better than the Clinton scandals. Who will rat on who? And who will 'fall of their sword'? How far will it go? Even Speilberg couldn't produce a better drama as truth is always stranger than fiction. Jonathan s |

Even our own Senator Dorgan has been touched by the taint...and he's one of the lead investigators into the wrongdoing. Pat |

Well, Bush, DeLay and a few other Republican scumbags have announced their campaign contributions from Abramoff will be donated to charity. What moral giants. Fake wire transfers. Mob-style assassinations. The American people should be proud of themselves. And the U.S. media? Hiding this story in the back pages as usual. |

And let us not forget the newest info regarding who got bugged by the NSA: http://americablog.blogspot.com/2006...g-whether.html The whole 'spying on Americans' thing is another biggee. Bush thinks he can ignore the will of a republican Congress and the Constitution. Incredible! Even George Will the other week was beside himself on this one. He couldn't believe any President would try to extend Presidential authority that far. What I find incredible in this Lobbyist scandal is that the republicans run all three branches of govt, yet are still getting indicted! That's not easy to do! I mean, when your own Justice dept starts indicting you! Gosh! This brings new meaning to the idea of highly partisan investigations. In the Clinton impeachment we knew it was highly partisan, as in one party out to get the other. Now, it's still partisan, only in one party destroying itself. ...and the joy of the no-fly lists: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jim-mo...d_b_13272.html That's getting to be kinda like being on Nixon's enemies list. Back then it was a badge of honor to be on that list. Pat |

I believe that President Bush has excellent reasons for the NSA monitoring (spying on Americans on overseas calls) and perhaps some good logical reasons for monitoring internal traffic. I am also suspicious that this might be a "red herring" leaked by the Bush administration itself as they believe that once the whole enterprise comes to light that the American voting people will believe it is far better for the monitoring to be done than taking the legalistic attitude that it is better to risk a terrorist attack than do some questionable monitoring. Takes peoples minds off things like Abramoff corruption probes where it looks as if the Republicans attitude that they don't like dealing with people who contribute to both sides could mean a lot more Republicans end up getting caught than Democrats.
