Nope!

Considering that the regular 20D body can be had for about £850 _and_
with free stuff it seems like daylight robbery to me (or should that
be nightlight robbery lol).

We are talking Halpha here I assume?? I thought this was a marked reduction on 20Da launch price. What does the 20D + Hutech conversion cost nowadays?

It might well be a reduction but I struggle with the differential cost
between this and the regular body, now available all over the place
sub-£850.

I understand the premium, but it seems to involve only the removal of
the IR filter (for H-alpha enhancement) and the replacement of the
mirror with a partially silvered one for short previews on the LCD
display. Firmware changes to support same. Is this worth double the
money?

I guess it's just the lower volumes that keep the price up, and the
lack of real alternatives except DIY (probably not the mirror though).
Don't know about the Hutech price.
