Funny how the mainstream culture has finally realised that Apollo was
truly special. Ten or 15 years ago, no-one would have run such an ad. It's taken the rest of the world almost 40 years to realise what the rest of us space nuts always knew. Gene DiGennaro Baltimore, Md. |

Gene DiGennaro Baltimore, Md. .... personally I think its one of the major downsides of this modern digital age - no matter how momentous the event if no color video/film exists showing what happened then its not relevant and the newer generations cannot grasp or comprehend it - and grainy extremely low-definition B & W video does not count!! And besides if it was really important then there would be a Hollywood movie about it like *Pearl Harbor* or *Saving Private Ryan* - right?? |

I began working in TV in about 1973 and getting a set of personal
Plantronics headset was all the rage among the directors and cameramen. Didn't know they were still around until I began seeing the commercials a few weeks back. -- Gene Seibel KB0NNN http://pad39a.com/gene/broadcast.html Because I fly, I envy no one. |

We had them at Ch. 7 in the production control booth, but engineering and master control had these huge noise-cancelling Telex jobs because of all the noise from the A/C fans that kept the VTRs cool. Those things were noisy as hell.
