Many of you know of Dr Chuck Wood, lunar columnist at S&T, and
author of The Modern Moon. He frequently posts in the Lunar Observing Group, and will be the first guest at the Lunar Observing Chat. Chuck Wood will be in the Lunar Observing Chat room on Thursday, October 20 at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (US), for 60-90 minutes. He will field questions from anyone in the group. You can find the group at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lunar-observing/ "While a student at University of Arizona, Chuck was among the first to work at Gerald Keiper's newly established Lunar and Planetary Laboratory in Tuscon, where he helped compile the most extensive catalogs ever made of lunar craters, and experienced firsthand the early days of spacecraft lunar exploration. Later as a NASA scientist and a researcher at various universities, he studied impact cratering and volcanism on the Moon and across the solar system. "Chuck holds degrees in astronomy and geophysics, and received his Ph.D. in planetary geology from Brown University. Since 1999 he has written a monthly lunar column in Sky & Telescope magazine. He is coauthor of Volcanoes of North America: United States and Canada (Cambridge UP 1992) and Astronaut's Guide to Terrestrial Impact Craters (L&PI 1988) and has published nearly 200 scientific papers on the Earth, Moon and planets." (From The Modern Moon) Clear Skies! Chuck Taylor ********************************************* Do you observe the moon?
