After a perfect partial last Monday morning from SW London the sun
refuses to peek through constant cloudcover 'till this morning [Saturday] but even then through haze. One small sunspot group #813 with little prom activity but fair one on NW limb. A very long filament [1/3 solar diameter] stretches from west limb towards the disk centre and includes a strong check-mark or tick feature as http://home.freeuk.com/m.gavin/pstnew.htm soon. Nytecam 51N 0.1W Are your coordinates correct, or is it my ancient AutoRoute? I have 51N 0.1W as Haywards Heath, which is almost due south of London and nearer to Brighton than the M25. You were very lucky with the eclipse; we had ten minutes of it at Hyde Park. So where are you? It's raining here... -- Helen D. Vecht: Edgware. |

Helen - my coords are wrong but near enough when comunicating [mostly timed solar stuff] with fellow observers overseas ;-). My website www.astroman.fsnet.co.uk names my location.
