Cornado PST

Hi there Gang,

this weekend I join the PST owners club - so sorry for the cloudy weather
today - obviously
the weatherman was wrong?

First impressions are that the image detail is superb and I'm very impressed
with the ease of use.

I have noticed that certain eyepieces that I have tried with the PST cannot
achieve focus.
I've tried Vixen Lanthanums and Abbe orthoscopics and there is just not
enough focus travel
to get sharp images.

Can anyone recommend whether certain types of eyepieces work/don't work with
the PST?

Got hold of a PST on Friday. Also very impressed with the quality of the
images. The amount and variety of detail that can be had by tuning the
etalon is stunning. ;-)

Only used the eyepiece that came with it (bit fussy about eye position,
fair amount of blacking out) and a GTO Zoom which came to focus easily
and gave rather nice views at a variety of magnifications. Looking
forward to trying others when the clouds go away (probably some time in
May... 2007).

I should mention that our PST was funded by the Institute of Physics in
Scotland, to be used by myself and colleagues from the Glasgow Science
Centre for public outreach activities. Already had about twenty people
from my department and half a dozen construction workers take a peek on
Friday. Very positive comments from everyone - including the wag who
reckoned he didn't need a scope to spot the sun - Oh the banter!...
