I'v seen a few very good images taken with the Canon 300D DSLR.
But, there are a few other brand DSLR's are on the market for resonable price, from Olympus, Nikon etc... Never heard people using them for long exposure! How about the new Canon EOS 350 XT, any one used it for astro photoghraphy yet? Julius |

Since I'm a newbie with astrophotography I don't know if I'll have any relevant info for you once I get started. Greg |

Here are some astro shots with the Nikon D70. The key to any DSLR
astrophotography is removing the IR filter, noise differences don't mean squat for the most-part: http://tinyurl.com/6kfwg - Horsehead Nebula http://tinyurl.com/3zxhj - M31 Andromeda Galaxy http://tinyurl.com/422po - California Nebula http://tinyurl.com/49tey - Comet Machholz & M45 http://tinyurl.com/7xmbh - Flaming Star Nebula http://tinyurl.com/43utn - Running Dog Nebula http://tinyurl.com/5okeq - M45 Pleiades http://tinyurl.com/6jpby - M42 Orion Nebula http://tinyurl.com/6whoa - N American Nebula http://tinyurl.com/6qgct - Milky Way http://tinyurl.com/67bgh - M20 Trifid Nebula http://tinyurl.com/6qvec - Full Moon http://tinyurl.com/6pyeb - Half Moon http://tinyurl.com/52jjc - Lunar Eclipse http://tinyurl.com/5j7o2 - Earth & Grand Canyon Best, --DJ |

Olympus E-300 or the Pentax *ist DS are similar DSLR's with bulb settings, but seems only the Canon is the favorite for amature astro photos. JS |
