After losing 14 astronauts and billions of dollars in hardware and work
under Republicans, Bush should phase it out.

Then why not ground all airplanes because of the number of crashs they have,
or how about all the ships that have sank during all of history, let's not
chance them anymore, hell, lets stop using cars and trucks and trains even
as we've lost people to them and never ride a horse, they can kill too.

This is just another way for bush to use money over in iraq instead of here.
Why now close down jpl and all our space research outfits and let Russia and
the EU do it all?

Just another reinforcement to my widely proven belief: US has the most
****ed up government in the world. No offence intended to most of the US
crowd though, there is lots of good people there.

Do you intend to imply the party in power had anything to do with the
Shuttle disasters?

I think phasing out the shuttle soon is a good idea - but I also think
we're behind the 8 ball on designing its replacement.

How far some have come in attitude -- from "we've never lost an
American in space and we won't on my watch" to essentially astronauts
are expendable.

Let's build something better than the shuttle. When I get on an
airplane, there isn't a 1 in 50 risk of dying.

Oh yeah, it's called squander. You can thank democrats graciously for
getting to the moon and getting things done
in space. Look at the MAJORITY leaders of congress during the years since
the early 60's and look at the leaders that roughly
coincide with space disaster and SQUANDER.

You squeal like a stuck pig about a spending cut and then label them
squanderers. Pick one.

He is not the only one voicing such opinions... I'm not picking on
anyone in particular -- rather the opinion voiced.
