Went outside at 2230, 15 mins after sunset here, and spotted Venus
easily with the naked eye. Had to use binocs to see Mercury, hardly surprising as they were 5mins and 35secs apart. Rushed to get my ETX90 and camera but lost the battle with the trees. The pair popped in and out of gaps in the leaves but never for long enough to get lined up with the camera on board. Got some nice peeks through the eyepiece though, closest I have seen 2 planets since Jupiter and Saturn, and that was through cloud too thick to see the Jovian Moons. Bill 57.5N 3.5W |
