Did anyone see the sun today? It was unbelievable. There must have been
six huge prominences hanging off the bottom, looking like a scraggly beard. Two of the prominences were connected, like a rainbow, showing the full arc. What a view! |

![]() Are you using PST? Is your view inverted or correctly orientated? I just wondered whether it was a really a "skraggly beard" or an unkempt hairstyle seen upside-down. Regards Chris.B |

Maurice, Just wanted to say, on behalf of the cloud bound members of
this usenet group, we appreciate your solar posts during this period of heightened prominence activity. - Canopus56 P.S. - Spaceweather.com is also collecting some images of the recent prominence activity. http://spaceweather.com/ |

I'm using a 60mm Coronado filter on a TV 101. I suppose it was upside
down. Still, beard or hair doo--it was awesome. If this is a preview of the solar minimum, let it come. |

I had a look at Sol shortly before local noon (16:00 UT) with my
Coronado PST and an 8-24mm Vixen LV zoom. The Sun has certainly been putting on a great show of late. Dave Mitsky |
