Some of the props came from Guard-Lee, some from Kansas Cosmosphere.
The LEM was a flight article from Cradle of Aviation. Where did the Lunar Rover come from? Was it a flight item from a cancelled mission? Any other unused Apollo flight articles in the filming? |

You had to put the chassis up on a test stand. There was a 1-g trainer model, which was operative at least until the late 1980s, but it had rubber tires. -- | The universe is not required to conform | Jay Windley to the expectations of the ignorant. | webmaster @ clavius.org |

Yes, I've seen the one at the NASM, but since the unit in FTETTM is
functional, there must be an operational model around. The other questions is, did the plans get tossed, or can North American Boeing build one today? Must be a pretty straight forward construction for somebody with the tools and access to the parts. |

The Lunar Module was not built by North American or Boeing. It was built by Grumman Aerospace on Long Island. Since being bought by Northrop they've sold off most of the facilities in Bethpage. Their old HQ is now the HQ of Cablevision, a NY area cable TV outfit (who incidentally, owns Madison Square Garden, the NY Knicks and the NY Rangers). What a legacy. The plans and drawings probably still exist but I wouldn't know where. -- bp Proud Member of the Human O-Ring Society Since 2003 |

![]() I was referring to the Lunar Rover. I've read everything I can possibly get my hands on regarding the LEM. I am hoping to make a lifesize LEM cockpit this Spring, with my 6th grade class, then run "Eagle Lander 3D" in the windows. The Rover was a N.A.R. critter, was it not? |

It was built by Boeing Space & Defense in Kent, WA. -- Dave Michelson |

I am hoping to make a lifesize LEM cockpit this Spring, with my 6th grade class, then run "Eagle Lander 3D" in the windows. Sounds neat! I would have loved that when I was in school. Apollo 11 landed on the Moon when I was in the 6th grade. The Rover was a N.A.R. critter, was it not?
