I remember seeing a news story on TV about a beer truck
which had been parked very close to one of the Shuttles, a picture of which was used in an advertisement. There was concern that a truck could have been allowed to get so close to the Shuttle and perhaps even touch it. I think this was about 10 years ago. Doing Google searches of both web pages and newsgroup traffic, I couldn't find any documentation of this incident. (That seems unusual -- normally even the most trivial subject produces loads of hits and sometimes entire web sites devoted to it.) Does anybody else remember this incident? Have a link to more information about it? Which Shuttle was involved? |

Budweiser truck at Dryden, about when the Budweiser-sponsored land vehicle was trying to break the land speed record. Anyway, the Orbiter was in Shuttle Area A and the truck got parked near it and the photo taken. I'm not even sure if the truck was inside the restricted area, as the photo was taken with a very long lens. Mary -- Mary Shafer Retired aerospace research engineer |

It could be done much more easily with a couple of images and a good
computer technician using PhotoShop. |

Probably either Columbia or Enterprise, but don't bet your lunch money on it. Mary -- Mary Shafer Retired aerospace research engineer |
