After a frustrating night last night when I saw the Pleiades for all
of 3 seconds in a 5 hour session, tonight was spoilt by high cloud. I
think the forecast is favourable for later on though.

Here's my only result so far this evening. 120s @ ISO1600 taken
through a thin cloud layer!

Some good clear breaks between high clouds early in the evening.

No pictures, but a decent view from University of London Observatory, 8-in
refractor, 50-mm wide angle eyepiece. Nucleus looked about mag 8-9,
integrated coma about 3.6-3.8. Easily visible by unaided eye close to the
Pleiades, even in light-polluted sky.

During a public viewing session, 8/1/05 1845-1915 UT.

Nice picture.

I popped out with the bins last night for a quick peek. Under my mag
4ish skies it was _just_ visible naked eye with averted veision.
