Default Machholz approaching the Pleiades...

Lovely sight tonight. The Pleiades make finding the comet a doddle...

Saw the comet at about 11pm with binoculars and the naked eye (averted
vision showed a blob rather than a star-like point). It really is easy
to find. The Pleiades and comet are almost in the same field of view in
my binos. Give it a day or two and they will look wonderful together.

I saw both the start of the two tails with the binos too, although they
only looked like slight bulges, making the comet look a little
triangular. That was before I knew which way they were meant to be
pointing so I don't think I'm fooling myself. I also noticed a bright
background star in the upper left of the coma.

Cheltenham / Gloucester absolutely nothing to see, campaign for dark
skys we need you :( Actually it is marginally less bad they are
gradually getting better cutoff lights as they replace street lights but
don't expect too much in the next few years

Not a problem out Tewkesbury way ....

Was great earlier tonight, then the cloud filled back in. Clear again
now, but not so transparent.

Central Cheltenham and Glos would be a challenge though...
Clear skies, Callum
